Pictures & Information about our roof
Dear parents,
As you are probably aware from the scaffolding in the playground we have been having some investigation work carried out on our roof and bell tower. Four of the large chimney stacks and our bell tower are in need of urgent repair. We are anticipating that work will begin on the roof the week beginning 14th March. For Health and Safety reasons we will need to restrict access to part of the Wellesley playground. Fencing will be used to ensure that pupils, staff and parents are kept a safe distance from any works happening above. This will have an impact on our Reception classes as they will not have access to the outside area directly under the canopies and will be unable to access classroom doors from the playground. We will be in touch with Reception parents in the next couple of weeks to inform them of the new arrangements for dropping off and collecting children. As with any old building these types of repairs are unavoidable and essential and I ask for your patience whilst they take place. We are working with the Local Authority to ensure they are completed as quickly as possible and at the moment have been given a time frame of 3 weeks for the works; however, these timings are of course subject to the prevailing weather conditions and to the extent of the repairs required to one of the chimney stacks which at this point in time have only been visually inspected at distance. I will keep parents up to date of any further news or developments should things change. In the meantime have a look at some of the pictures bellow showing the repairs and views from the rooftop of the school
Yours sincerely,
